Cuba!!

A Canadian cyclist from Ontario, Peter Marshall, sponsors two Cuban youth cycling teams, one in Havana and one in Las Tunas. They are always in need of bikes, components and parts, tubes, clothing...you name it. Obtaining bikes and parts is near impossible in Cuba. It is unaffordable to most Cubans, and often non-existent. If you are heading to Cuba, and are able to bring bike parts or any racing gear to give to the cycling team, it would be greatly appreciated. Boxing up an old racing bike or parts is easy, and costs pennies to us compared to what it is worth to them. Used tubes are more than welcome. Peter also runs a few bike tours in Cuba. The Tailwind tour is a two-week leisurely sight-seeing ride in November, 40-100k per day. The epic End 2 End two-week Cuba tour covers the island from starts at Baracoa and ends Cabo San Antonio. There's some flexibility with riding distances per day on this tour, if you prefer to ride less than the 100-200k per day. Also, a Masters Stage Race is taking place in the fall in Havana and Cienfuegos. This event is organized by a group from Spain and attracts riders from Spain, Germany, France, and Canada.

Peter is a resident of Cuba, and very knowledge about the country and its culture.
